Not among my favorite of their albums.

For my money, On the Threshold of a Dream is their best.

it's like asking which is your favorite child... though truth be told by the time we got to every good boy deserves favour and seventh sojourn, my attention span was getting shorter

i did hear "go now" on the radio today ... i went to check and it is the 3rd highest charted single they had, behind nights in white satin and your wildest dreams .... i'm gonna have to go find out why nights was not released as a single when the album came out

I haven't ever heard anyone of these.

I'd definitely agree with Seventh Sojourn, but one of my favorites of theirs was on EGBDF: "Emily's Song". I also liked "Nice To Be Here", and although it's a bit melancholic, I also liked "You Can Never Go Home".

When it was released the second time is when I got tired of it. Had always liked it until they played it to death. Because it was 7 minutes long, DJ's would play it in order to take a short break.

You won't regret it. It's such a lovely song.

Any ideas why Days of Future Passed was re-released? Did some record company mogul have a hunch kids would suddenly line up to buy it?

here's the only thing i found

Quote:
As the first single from this album, the song was a huge international hit despite its long-running length. After the chart success of other long songs such as “Hey Jude” and “Layla”, “Knights In White Satin” was re-released in 1972 and it charted even higher, reaching #2 on Billboard chart and #1 on several other charts, with even a Spanish-language version, “Noches de Seda”, topping charts in some countries.

since it only charted at 103 on billboard , not so sure i'd classify that as a "huge international hit" since it was not "huge" in the states

Back in the early 70's, I listened to a station here in the NYC market that billed itself as 'album-oriented rock'. They would periodically play either an entire album, or sometimes, one half. The record companies eventually made them stop because people were recording them off the radio. I thought it was a great way to determine if an album was worth buying.
