Poker, like chess or checkers, is not a sport. IMHO. Others have the HO that soccer is not a sport. I claim equal opinion.

Final Table Chip Counts:

and then there were two.... cynn vs. miles for 8.8 M vs 5 M ... miles leads with a tad over 200 million chips to cynn's 193 million or so .... nice to see it is so close... though that probably means it'll be a long night... and one i will not make until completion :fyi:

we are currently over 100 hands heads up ... cynn leads 214,400,000 to miles' 179,400,000 and i'm just not gonna be able to hang anymore ... it's 11 minutes until the next break... that will be my good night call

there has been one bluff shove by miles that worked.... it's been a great final table

well, it took another 3 1/2 hours but john cynn prevails ... his winning hand was trip kings over the two pair of tony miles... the next big thing starts today with the 1 million dollar buy-in big one for one drop tournament...there will be a cap of 48 rich individuals interested in competing for this one .... prize will be in the vicinity of 15 large

I have just secured a ticket to a Pittsburgh Riverhounds FC match vs. Charleston Battery this coming Saturday. Been a few years since I have been to a Riverhounds match; that time they were playing at a local high school and lost 0-2 to a team from Los Angeles. Hoping for a better result this time, and looking forward to seeing their new riverfront stadium.

Alas, I have still not seen the Riverhounds score a goal in person. The stadium is nice, with a spectacular view of the downtown skyline. But the result of the match was a 1-0 loss to Charleston. The Riverhounds had several golden opportunities to score - including a ball that hit the crossbar, and a penalty kick they couldn't capitalize on. The Battery got the lone goal near the end, in the 88th minute.

This happened a couple of weeks ago ... Americas game - disc golf. ;) Paul McBeth goes -18 for a round. Breaks the course record by 7 shots. Some are calling it the greatest round of disc golf ever.

Shakespeare fans will find a lot to like in this clip.

Johnny Football's CFL debut didn't go very well. 4 INT, no TD.

Johnny Manziel's CFL debut set a viewership record for ESPN for that league:

and for the first time since 1966 (wow, can't believe it's been 52 years!) a houston team makes it to the llws ... you go post oak.... take it home... they beat an oklahoma team 8-0 to move on to williamsport

Post subject:  Re: Catch-all thread for "other" sports

australia was poised to upset mexico in the first round game of the llws...until their stud pitcher hit his pitch limit... the poor kid coming in after him never had a chance... mexico walks it off

transition to the houston team...after their starter hit his limit, the kid coming in after him was throwing comparable to 95-96 mph cheese and rhode island had no answer... post oak goes into the winner's bracket with a 3-1 win... and they were rocking the 'stros' rainbow unis (kinda)

sadly houston's team went down to new york today in a pitcher's duel 2-1.. houston's stud pitcher had one inning that his control left him and it cost us the game... hope we can work our way back up to the championship game... not sure (can't remember) who we will be playing next

Post subject:  Re: Catch-all thread for "other" sports

oh yeah... just an fyi... the panama pitcher today is the hardest throwing in the tournament... he can hit 79mph, which is equivalent to 103.9 for a big league pitcher
