compliments of sportscenter... yes, they swim at times other than the olympics.... katie ledecky, swimming the 1500 free at the world championships, won her third gold medal of the championships.... by 19 seconds!!!!! ..... is that kinda like secretariat's 31 length win?

In a sport where the top three spots can be determined by hundredths of a second, yes and then some. (I was a swim parent for 10 years and a USA Swimming starts-and-turns judge for three.)

well, you usually don't see a 1500 decided by hundredths of a second, but yeah, the point is she was so dominant it was painful to the rest of the competitors

Canadian Football League result from Saturday night:

Calgary Stampeders 60, Hamilton Tiger-Cats 1.

No, that is not a typo.

There's also the Calgary Stampede, a world class rodeo.

I've been there. We were guests of Shell Canada and got to sit in their luxury box. It was a really cool experience, but I didn't like being separated from the crowd noise and atmosphere by a sheet of plexiglas. My only other complaint about an otherwise amazing experience was the beer. In a nation famed for its beer, and with so many good ones from which to choose, what was the exclusive beer of the Calgary Stampede? Budweiser. :barf: Epic fail, eh?

and Father... you'll be thrilled the little 2nd baseman from texas said his favorite player was ozzie smith  we also had a nolan ryan and a pudge rodriquez in there... surprisingly enough, there were 4 who chose brandon belt... not sure what the connection is there :?

kid can hit also ... two run dinger that measured 300 feet... meanwhile, his teammate is 2-2 with 2 dingers and the michigan pitcher has been lifted and placed in centerfield

kid from joisey has got it going on...he's 11-15 with 3 home runs , two of which came in the 4th inning in this game to eventually eliminate michigan ... score is 15-5 right now, so the 10 run rule will take care of it if they don't score at least one in the bottom of the inning

two huge surprises today.... south korea is eliminated in two straight games , the earliest they have ever exited the llws... and highly regarded, if not usa favorite california also loses in two straight games to be eliminated from the competition... they have one more consolation game to play against one of the world teams , as does south korea
