Despite their impressive 23-5 record, Wright State is ranked only #110 in the BPI. They have not played, let alone beat, any ranked teams, and their strength of schedule, at #353, is the weakest in Division I.

So they will need to win the Horizon League tournament to qualify for the Big Dance.

In basketball, Notre Dame steals one from North Carolina at the very end of the game.

good to hear he is speaking from his hospital room and his injuries are not considered life threatening .... haven't heard much more in detail than that

congrats to wvu's bob huggins for tying the venerable nc's dean smith in all time wins at 879... and he could probably overtake current nc's roy williams at 881, since the tar heels kinda suck this year

Bowling team is 8-1 but we are having some struggles in recent games. Still we are now ranked #2 in the state in the power rankings. Our next match is against the #1 power ranked team in the state who happens to be a district rival in all sports. They have also been rewriting their record book at their school which has a storied bowling history.

I also had a chance today to look over the teams from the rest of the state and how it looks like we will end up power ranking wise by the end of the year. A Final Four berth is a realistic goal given a good draw. I'll keep y'all posted. We are a young and growing program. I am optimistic about where we can go in the three years I have this squad.

3 of the top 4 college basketball teams lost over the weekend... certainly might affect sd state's ability to be a #1 seed...time will tell but march madness is 3 weeks away...with the selection of the teams and the bracket rankings coming in two weeks ... it'sw been a crazy year in college b'ball folks... should make for a fun tournament

Wright State men's basketball team defeated Northern Kentucky last night, to win their first ever outright Horizon League regular season title.

Our bowling team lost their second match of the season, rather handily actually. It will end up being a good thing. The team we played is a likely final four team and possibly a state title contender. Their "low lane" shot 681 on us (for 3 bowlers) in one of the games. I am happy to get 520 out of my low lane this season in a good game and an anomalously high set for them would be 570. The kids know now that our goals to reach the final four and eventually win a state title are going to only happen if I can get the bottom 3 kids averaging closer to 190 with occasional 640+ games. Our lineup makes us a Top 10 team this season but top 10 (out of ~100) is simply not good enough. We have to enter that upper echelon which only comes from dedication and hard work. The good news is, they are ready to work and I have buy in for off season leagues and private coaching. That is WONDERS compared to past teams. Next season I want my cut line for starters to be 180 and I want 10 kids 160+.

We have a month until playoffs. I want to see what kind of progress we make in the coming weeks. We are aiming to surprise THIS SEASON and continue to build for a couple of runs at state.

Wright State men's basketball team entered the Horizon League tournament as the top seed, but squandered it Monday night, losing in the semifinal to Illinois-Chicago. :nooo: The Raiders will settle for an NIT bid as the regular season champion.

UIC lost to Northern Kentucky in last night's conference championship.

In more positive Wright State news, the baseball team took 2 out of 3 over the weekend from 11th-ranked Tennessee --- at the Vols' home field. The Vols had come into the weekend undefeated.

No fans at the NCAA. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... nt-go-fans

Stinks if this is the year you finally scored Final Four tickets.

In the US, the NBA announced that it will suspend the season after Wednesday night’s games until further notice, as it deals with the coronavirus pandemic.

The announcement came after a player on the Utah Jazz preliminarily tested positive for covid-19 ahead of a game between that team and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game was called off moments before tip-off, and the player had not been in the arena
