My friend liked some of his quotes. What is a good way to him? What non-fiction works to start with?

It's not so much that I disagree with Father, but I disagree with Father. :fyi: :D  :cloud9: :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut:

Orthodoxy's the go-to for a lot of reasons. But there's a good case for St. Thomas Aquinas, which is probably Chesterton's best work.

But depending on your friend's background and interests, the best place to start might be almost anywhere. I forget whether his first book is the one on Watts, but I think it was. I go back to that one all the time. Great stuff, especially one particular passage about Mammon. If your friend has artistic leanings, that might be a place to start. Sounds like your friend doesn't appreciate literature, so I wouldn't recommend the Dickens bio or other such literary works, but those are amazing. Political thought--there's a vast amount, some of which I think I've recommended to you before. Even weird little works like The Coloured Lands and other such collections can be great, and may give more of a flavor of how Chesterton's mind works than the longer, single-topic books that typically get the press.

She is a bit into literature and is a mild leftist. She might have trouble with complex English though. She was attracted to him by the quotes.

I always say that it depends on what you are looking for, in reading Chesterton.

But, what the heck.

Autobio, ORTHODOXY, ST. THOMAS AQUINAS...It's all good.

WATTS was his 7th book.
