In SE Michigan I paid $2.87 two days ago. According to gasbuddy.com it can be had for $2.76 in the same area.

I heard someone on the news comment about "how low" gas prices are. That's what we have come to. People now think that $3.00 a gallon is "low". I suppose when compared to the prices around the world it is low but it's not low when considering what we have had in the past in the US.

True. When Bush took office gas was about 1.47 per gallon.

I filled up for $2.96 on Saturday, but that was with my 3 cents per gallon Sheetz card discount.

Makes me realise how expansive petrol is here.
If my math is correct (we use litres), we are paying around $6.50 a gallon.

Our dollar is currently trading at 86 US cents, but we have been pretty close to 100 US cents quite recently.

I paid $2.89 this week. I'm headed to Virginia on Saturday. Around Wytheville there's a station that is usually 20 to 40 cents cheaper than what we can get up here. I'm eager to see the price and fill up there!

So, prices around here have been hovering in the 2.90s for about two weeks. Though according to GasBuddy, a few stations around town have dipped to 2.88 or 2.89. (And I would get 2.86 at Sheetz on Rt 705 with my loyalty card.)
