Went skiing this weekend at Snowshoe Mountain in Pocahontas County, WV. Snowshoe is unusual in that the skiers' village (on both the main and Silver Creek areas) is on top of the mountain, so you drive up, ski down and catch the lift back up to the lodge.

Anyway, there is an Exxon on Rt. 66 at the foot of the mountain. They were charging $2.59 for regular this weekend.

I stayed overnight Saturday at the Marlinton Motor Inn, 18 miles south. There is a Marathon right next door which was charging $2.19. I gassed up at the Marathon. This particular Marathon was the first gas station I'd seen in a long time that did NOT have pay at the pump.

Filled up at Kroger near work this evening. They were charging $2.09, I paid $2.06 with my loyalty discount.

The Sheetz on 705 is being greedy; they're at $2.25.

Banned for killing the thread.

I gassed up yesterday morning on my way up to Pittsburgh to catch the World War I documentary, "They Shall Not Grow Old", which is not playing here in little ol' Morgantown.

I bypassed the Sheetz on 705 ... GasBuddy had told me they were at $2.19, but they were actually charging $2.39. I instead filled up at the Exxon on Van Voorhis which actually *was* charging $2.19.

Emphasis on *was*, because when I got back to Morgantown yesterday evening, the Exxon had jacked up their price to $2.39, matching the Sheetz.

BTW, if you have a chance to see "They Shall Not Grow Old", it is an excellent documentary ... amazing what they were able to do with the 100-year-old footage from WW1.

Within a few miles, there is a 40-cent gap, from a low of $2.05 to a ridiculous $2.45...there's a current proposal to raise gasoline tax in Ohio by 18c/gal, effective July 1...
