most stations around here are in the 2.42-2.49 range... i used my kroger card at shell and paid 2:39... i've seen a number as high as 2.59 for a cash price... my question is, with the price of crude up, why is my pittance of an oil royalty check not increasing? :? :?

Does it usually go up or down based on the price of crude?

Filled up for $2.77 yesterday after Mass, at a Shell in Gaithersburg, MD. 13.893 gallons, for a total of $38.61 ... the most expensive fill up I've had since I bought my van 2 1/2 years ago. Though I've had a few 14-plus gallon fillups, the cost of gas was lower in those cases.

$2.77 at Sheetz this morning, back home in Morgantown. Though I paid $2.74 with my loyalty card discount.

so have you been affected by the great gas price of 2018 yet? .... we're still holding at 2.46-2.59 for the lows in the area... some jackanape decided to be the first in the county when he jacked his regular rate up to 3.15 after hearing the iran oil news  :verymad: :nooo:

Still holding at $2.77 around here.

I saw some gas prices near $3 in PA, when I went to Pittsburgh on May 4th to get the adaptive equipment on my van serviced. Fortunately, I left home with almost a full tank, and didn't have to fill up until I got back.

Time was when PA had lower gas prices than WV; I remember seeing pamphlets at WV gas stations pleading not to cross state lines to get cheaper gas. Now it's reversed, since PA has the highest gas taxes in the nation, and WV is just above the middle of the pack.

Is this something you get just for being a Texan? I guess I've heard Alaskans get such a thing.

alaskans do, texans don't.... well, most texans don't.... dad retained the mineral rights (small as they are) to his land, so when the oil companies come knocking, all you do is say yes... not really sure how it works as there are no wells on our property, but my sister and i share the monthly amount due us from the wells in the vicinity.... weird thing is, the 6 acres my nephew-in-law bought from my mom contain 62% of the oil money from "our" land , while our 185 acres contain 38% ... i told mom to retain all the mineral rights but she was "encouraged" to sign the sale contract as the snake oil salesman drew it up...so when she died, my niece got a large chunk of what should have been her inheritance early :rant :hissy

Interesting. We have all the mineral rights stuff mentioned in mortgage contracts around here, but as far as I know they're not typically relevant to anything. No oil. Now, they are talking about fracking around here, but I doubt the frackers have any intention of paying people for that. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope they don't do the fracking, though, one way or the other.

when things were going well, mom could count on 1700-2000 a month... then things went south and the amount (total) hovers around 400-500 per month... i'm thankful to be getting a little something, but sure wish mom had listened to me ... or at least let me read the document before she signed the land over to him... things would have worked out a lot better for me and my sister

I think I paid $2.70 for unleaded, and then paid $3.09 for non-ethanol. Cost me $90 to fill up my little truck and my three gas cans.
