A hindu man complained that Zomato had sent a non-Hindu rider, so he didn't want that food. Zomato didn't agree with him and tweeted, "Food doesn't have a religion, it is a religion".
And there are calls to boycott Zomato.

If the boycott works, I'd say that's a good sign of radicalization. If not, it's just some partisans spouting off on social media.

(Note: I'm not denying that there are serious social, religious, racial and ethnic tensions in India.)

Thankfully, I live in Kerala, which is relatively good.

So, is this fairly accurate? https://www.lonelyplanet.com/india/kerala. If so, you are blessed indeed to live in an area with such beauty and history. I'll have to check the exchange rate between the Rupee and the USD, though.

Kerala is more educated and peaceful than other parts of India. I attach below a photo of the main road to which my bylane joins. The coconut ("kera") trees/palms ate the reason why Kerala gets its name.

One of the things we are not good at, though, is garbage disposal :| There are piles at a few places.

I don't know how an American would perceive Kerala, and I've never come there either.

The rupee has been falling steadily.

Modi criticized his predecessor when he was in the opposition, but hasn't been any better (perhaps even worse, since there was the global recession then) on the economic front. As someone said, Modi wouldn't vote for himself in 2019 of he heard good own speeches in 2014 ::):

Two years ago, Modi declared the demonetization. Gasp.
