seacrest re-ups for 2 more years with idol...they had to twist his arm though...he's only going to be making ab 15 million a year... sure wish they would start over with the judges...or at least get rid of worthless randy

Dog, I like Randy. He doesn't have anything very intelligent to say, but it's TV. Who, on TV, does have anything intelligent to say? Randy's fun. And I think that when I'm able to understand him, he's sometimes even correct in his criticisms.

About Ryan: I dunno what other people think about him, but I think he actually does a nice job. I mean, there are moments where he really goes too far (trying to get contestants to cry, or whatever), but considering he's doing sometimes 3 hours or more of live TV per week, I think he actually really handles things well. What do the rest of you guys think?

The problem with replacing the judges is that I'm not sure who would really do a good job week after week, LIVE. People are giving Jimmy all this credit, but he might not do any better on the spot. ANYONE could do better than Randy - he's just terrible, and it's embarrassing how he tries so hard to make it SEEM like he knows what he's talking about, but doesn't. But J.Lo and Steven - I just have a feeling anyone else would be maddening in their own way as well...That's not to say I wouldn't like to see Idol try to do better, I just wouldn't get my hopes up.

The thing about Randy is that he really does know music. I think each of the judges brings a little something different to the table. A guy with his credentials couldn't possibly have them if he didn't "hear" music well. So, though he gets annoying and critiques the same old "pitchy" way, credit is due him. Jennifer brings performance knowledge to the table. Steven brings a combination of all three.

I actually like the judges better than the previous judges... even though they've been a little annoying this year with the way they make their favorites known... i.e. DeAndre, Joshua, Jessica.

Apparently, the show appeals to me much more since I've actually watched it. In the past, I used to watch the auditions and then the final two shows. Couldn't hold my attention for anything in between with the exception of the Taylor Hicks season.

i absolutely think the judges should stop ranking/promoting their favorites (or unca nigel's favorites as the case may be )... that should NOT be their job... i heard that randy was on the talk or the view or one of those shows predicting the final order... HELLO they all already do enough of that favoritism critique (well maybe steven doesn't always ...but with him ya never know where stuff comes from ) to make me crazy

i can see elise doing "crazy little thing called love" and phillip doing "fat bottomed girls" and "the joker" ... but if that is true... who will do "bohemian rhapsody"... surely not joshua ...i could see colton doing it...but not sure about anyone else ... joshua will do "dance with my father" and skylar will do "tatoos on this town" , while hollie will probably do "the climb" and elise will rock "bold as love" but what a curious choice
