Actually, no. Robin Hood is placed into an extremely specific time and place in history, namely Nottingham and Shrewood Forest while Richard 'Lionheart' was in the Holy Land fighting the Crusades....

That is true, but that didn't happen until a couple of centuries after the earliest folk tales about Robin Hood. It was actually Howard Pyle who put the folk tales together into one complete story in 1883.
