The guy was the lead singer of Van Halen, the biggest band in the world for several years there, for 15 years, and has a 20 plus year long solo career on top of that, and no one knows who he is? What a blow to his ego that must be......

When he was with the band it was even known colloqually, although not officially as 'Van Hagar'

I thought Sammy Hagar was some medieval viking comic strip character.

Hagar the Horrible is actually what he has been called by Van Halen fans who think he ruined the band...

Ignorance of Van Halen is ignorance of Hagar.

I voted Texas, because there's some really good music coming out of Texas these days.

Oh, and the only time Van Halen was any good was when Sammy Hagar was with them. If anyone disagrees with this statement, they are wrong. :fyi:

I'd "mix and match" to do Aerosmith and ZZ Top.

Saw the Who in '92. Since two of the greatest musicians of all time, John Entwistle and Keith Moon are dead, and just happen to be two of the four of the Who, there isn't much point in seeing them again.

Tom Petty is good, but ZZ Top - that would be awesome.

#3 is NOT the band...but for those among you who are young and whipsnapperish enough to not know who i'm talking about

both sets of bands will be appearing in the next couple of months.... so i was just curious as to what the taste level of the board would be

I picked #3. Nice to know that age 57 is "young and whipsnapperish"

That is a really horrible typo! To think that a simple sentence like 'Van Halen immediately went downhill the instant Sammy Hagar joined' came out like that.. :nooo:

This video has the Blue Angels. Your argument has been rendered invalid. :fyi:

I've heard of Aerosmith and zztop but I could not identify any music from any of the people/groups mentioned so I have no opinion on any of them. (Of course, my 85% hearing loss could be the reason I can't identify any of the music. )

I'm going to see Tom Petty on the 28th but I'd pick Aerosmith over him any day (saw them twice).

have you always had your 85% hearing loss?

if not,did you never hear any zztop as a kid? if not, what did you listen to when you were growing up?

Well, I would have said the first one, oh, maybe 15 yrs ago. But now, while I do like ZZ Top, and maybe one or two of Petty's songs, well, I'm just *not* a concert person.

I'll stay home, thank you. With Zeno. Maybe we could have a "Girls Night In". Drink girl drinks and watch some good movies (no musicals!).

We'd need to get Marti and Kage-Ar there, too, of course...all the nursing mom's could be the designated drivers...yeah, I think that could work...

:)

I'm an old fart when it comes to music. Straight No Chaser will be in Houston in October and I desperately want to go. I wouldn't want to see any of the bands you named even if someone gave me tickets. I just don't enjoy them.

My son (15) ignited a Hagar vs. Roth debate on his Facebook page. He knows who all the bands that FS named are but his main influence regarding music is his dad and dad is 48. :D
