#3 is NOT the band...but for those among you who are young and whipsnapperish enough to not know who i'm talking about

both sets of bands will be appearing in the next couple of months.... so i was just curious as to what the taste level of the board would be

There wasn't an option for none of the above (I couldn't say Who? not just because of the band of the same name but also because I'm familiar with all four bands you mentioned). Of the choices you mentioned Tom Petty and ZZ Top would be less offensive to my mellowed old ears than hagar/aerosmith, but I'd prefer to stay home or go hear choral or classical these days.

They both stink, so I answer none of the above.

I know who you're talking about, except for Sammy Hagar. :fyi:

I liked some Tom Petty music in middle school.

:fyi: puppi... sammy hagar took david lee roth's place as lead singer in van halen ... but as advertised, is no longer with them... the song Fr Kenobi has referenced by hagar on this board before is "i can't drive 55"

Heck, I picked WHO before I read the post - because I am not a Sammy Hagar fan (but DH is) and Tom Petty bothers me.

My son really likes Tom Petty, so I picked that.

Didn't Aerosmith break up recently anyway? Or is Hagar the replacement for Steven Tyler?

If you held a gun to my dog's head and threatened to shoot him unless I named at least one song by any of the above, I regret to say that I would promptly be petless.

Oh come on, I'm trying to get tickets to a real concert this summer. RUSH is coming to town. (The band, not the political commentator, before somebody starts it....) Now that is good music!

But for the above, definitely Aerosmith. Tom Petty's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard--but on steroids. :nooo:

I'd crawl through ten hours of Tom Petty to get to ZZ Top. They're the real deal. I like Tom Petty's early stuff, not as big on the later work.

Is Tom Petty the guy who tells the story of the new logger who went to Northern Michigan and made a pie?

found this while looking around

Quote:
In March, Tyler announced he had completed a stint in rehab and was ready for the group's summer Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock tour.

they will be in your "vicinity" in late august (19th and 22nd) ... one state over each direction...ready for a road trip 8-) :D

i have no idea...being born and raised in florida, i'm not sure how much he would know about northern michigan

didn't even realize they were still touring...saw them on SNL this past season and was amazed how much better petty looks from aging

I would never go to a concert, especially with bands that are so far past their prime. As far as the music goes I like Tom Petty and Aerosmith the best.
