As I said this to my husband tonight, it dawned on me that if anyone were visiting, they would have not a clue what I meant.

People look at me like this :scratch: when I tell them that such and such is located by the dirt mall.

What little words/phrases do you have at home or with your friends that would make YOU sound crazy to visitors?

Ha . . . your post reminded me of cheese.

As kids my sister called Swiss cheese "Stinky Feet Cheese" because that's what she thought it smelled like.

My niece used to call Colby Jack "Tiger Cheese" because it's sort of striped, I guess.

The names have stuck so everyone in the family immediately knows what someone means by the terms.

And don't get me started on foofers.

We quote movie lines to each other during conversations that mean stuff to us (and we know exactly what we're talking about) but others are :scratch:

It's pretty funny. ::):

I'm a sci-fi geek. Our family probably sounds like this: ::):

Yeah, we do that too, all the time actually. Once in a while someone will catch onto it. One of the lines we say all the time is, "Are you serious Clark?"

Imagine not knowing what was going on and hearing, "Pass the butt paste on over".

Isn't foot cheese the skin that flakes off and gets caught between your toes?

Ahh. I've heard the same phrase used to refer to Parmigiano, Pecorino, and Gran Padano.

Most people don't use the term Zorries to refer to flip-flops. It's the Japanese name for them.
