Oooooh, that's a big scary chart. Of course the max number is 700 per million, or .07%. Is that really a significant difference, and what basis do you have for suggesting government response is the driving factor?

I think I’m going to disavow my US citizenship and beg to move to Australia or Thailand.

Oh wait, how many COVID-19 cures will come from either continent?

Never mind. I’m fine here.

Nobody around the world gets it. Our culture is one of risk. High risk. But with that risk comes great reward and innovation. That’s a simple fact.

Yes, more will die here, but over the long haul, we will prosper much more.

Our country will also likely develop the cure that is most effective for the largest number of people. And we will save the world. Again. As we always do.

Just like we saved the world against Soviet communism.

Just like we bailed out France, and England, and Australia, and all of freaking Europe, and oh wait, most of the world, against tyranny in WWII. Yes, our boys and our blood. Sure other’s pitched in (and I thank you!), but everyone know’s it was the good ole USA that did the heavy lifting.

Just like we have saved the world with with nearly every major cure developed for most major diseases.

This may be arrogance, but that doesn’t mean its not true.

So yes, more of us may die as a percentage as compared to others.

But the freedoms we have and the good we do is worth it.

A cursory examination of the chart shows that China is on it. It appears that the charts creator takes China's word that China's cumulative death toll is about zero. It also takes China's word that the Chinese economy has grown about 4% over the course of the pandemic.

Thus, the chart itself demonstrates its own meaninglessness.

The original model was only wrong by a factor of 100+/-.
Meanwhile, almost half (HALF!!!) of the charts depicting deaths in the US (the C-19 deaths in the US) are connected to people that were trapped in nursing homes by the brain dead people that are still making the rules. Riots and 'mostly peaceful' demonstrations and air travel in sardine like conditions are perfectly fine. Attending church is a criminal act. No one seems to want to address the inherent cluelessness of those in charge that keep repeating that the sky is falling.

Yes, but also, let's examine death rates by region of the U.S. by date the infections really took off. The earlier, the worse it is. If it was after Trump announced a cure, the death rate plummets. The countries that take the Trump treatment have a much lower death rate. Of course it is outlawed in most of the U.S.

Until it's "safe" means never.
