I was at the book store today and saw this book, something about Marin devotions and meditations, and its by Karl Ratzinger. Unforutnaetly, it had plastic around it so I couldn't see what it said.

Not sure of exact title, but it had Zion and Daughter. It was also in the Holy Father book section

And, on a side note, do all popes write books and is it a requirement for them?

I'm hard-pressed to think of a pope before Blessed John XXIII who wrote a book, but there probably are some. It's not a requirement.

Most popes--at least in the last few centuries--have written a lot, often in the form of encyclical letters.

The book by Pope Benedict is called "Daughter Zion." From what I've heard its very good.

On a side note, I just bought his "Milestones" and "Introduction to Christianity" and I ordered Servant of God John Paul II's book "Gift and Mystery."
