One quick note:
The fact that there's an "official theology" and a Magisterium isn't (according to Pink) anything new.

He states that the official theology is the interpretation of the Magisterium.... like in the case of Limbo. The Magisterium stays the same but the official theology that explains that Magisterium can change.

I'm not saying you need to agree with this.... but on Pink's view the idea that you have a Magisterium and an Official Theology which seeks to explain the magisterial teaching isn't in any way a modern innovation.
