Do you normally pray the rosary out loud or in your head, I'm not sure which one is to be done.

Hi Lizzy,

When I pray the Rosary with those who stay after weekday Mass, we say it together out loud.

When I pray the Rosary by myself at home I say it in my head -- although sometimes I say it aloud....
I live alone. :D

Thanks I also have one more question, is it okay to not use rosary beads, I don't have any and I'm afraid to ask my parents (there not catholic). So I would just use my fingers

*EDIT* Thank you for all the help I have found an app

Here's one you can do online along with a video. It's pretty cool, and no rosary needed.

Okay I'll keep my eye out for one but could I use my fingers or would that be a disgrace?

i'm pretty sure it is why our Lord gave us 8 fingers and 2 thumbs... so we could keep track of the prayers when a rosary was not available 8-)

I use my fingers in the car.

And I always pray the rosary, as well as all other prayers, out loud.

It certainly is not a disgrace, but a great blessing that you want to pray!

Your hands have ten fingers so you can use them to count ten Hail Mary's in one decade. :wave

Hello there,

I pray the Rosary sitting on my bed. A small altar is next to my bed with my Rosary on it...I have some incense, a red candle, a crucifix, a card with St. Benedict on it and another with St. Mary Magdalene and a small bottle of holy water. So it kinda sets the mood. A cool app for your phone which you can use to guide you through the Rosary is called the Laudate app. It's all on there including the Mass, Liturgy of hours, etc. Also, your local Parish may have a Rosary group that meets. Check it out.

Enjoy and God bless.

Where can I get a rosary? There is a Catholic bookstore close, and how can I pray this? Do I need to be a Catholic to pray this?

I apologize, I'm trying to learn. A co-worker said I would be a good Catholic.

I did contact a Catholic Church nearby and I spoke to a nice lady who said I would be very welcome. She said they have adult classes for outsiders like me. I feel a prayer may be answered, for the class falls on one of my days off.

Does the Church always do this? I asked her what did I need to bring to the class, and she said, "Your Bible, and your heart. That is all."

I will be there on Thursday.

No, you do not have to be Catholic to pray the Rosary.

Here is a site where you can send for a free Rosary; and you can ask a priest to bless it for you.

http://www.familyrosary.org/TheRosary/R ... aries.aspx

There is a lot of other information on that site also.

Ask any questions you may have about the Rosary.

May our Lord Jesus Christ and our Blessed Mother be with you on your spiritual journey!

I just noticed on that site that there is a 7 day waiting time for asking for a free rosary.

Meanwhile you can ask at the Catholic Church if there is a plastic rosary you can have. Many Catholic churches provide them at the back of the church, along with pamplets on the mysteries of the rosary to meditate on.

Why wait? Download a rosary app to your phone. You touch the bead, the prayer comes up for you to read. Easy-peasy for beginners.

My favorite is Laudate, available on both iTunes and Google Play. It's free, and has ALL KINDS of info ranging from the daily liturgy (Bible readings at Mass) to devotional prayers and novenas, to Catholic Bibles (Douay-Rheims and NAB translations).

If that's information overload, you can start simple by downloading a free app that JUST has a rosary (beads and prayers). A blogger wrote about her search for the "perfect Rosary app" for Android here http://catholicmom.com/2013/08/21/looking-for-the-perfect-android-rosary-app/

If you have an iPhone (poor dear :nooo: ), you might look at these suggestions: http://stephencuyos.com/free-rosary-apps-for-your-iphone/

Look around, download a couple, and see which one works best for you.

You could also try this one: http://newevangelizers.com/products-pag ... ed-rosary/

Or you could make your own if you have a few supplies: http://olrm.org/rosary-resources/make-a-rosary/
