This is normally punished severely in other parts of the world; what an opportunity! I can only assume they might be of a Alevism community. It never hurts to learn about them. That's how the Mormons reeled me in when I was a youth.

the sdas reeled me in as a young person through the fn light and using God as a judgement tool, saying ill be damned if i dont become a seventh day adventist. Theyre a cult that use God and the bible as a control tool.

Old thread... I've been reading some books by Protestant authors. One called "Dreams and Visions: Is Jesus Awakening the Muslim World" and "I Dared To Call Him Father" have been particularly moving.

Let's hope it's true. I had read that there are quite a number of converts in the African countries, but if it's all over Islam, that would be hopeful.

I think the most important is that some Muslims need to be converted from evil to good. They should learn not to kill, not to become terrorists, not to force us to be converted to Islam, etc.

Been reading about Fatima. Fr Apostoli's book makes some very interesting points. God selected Fatima for a reason.

Ven. Archbishop Fulton Sheen also wrote about it in the early 50's.

Just heard yesterday on Facebook from a Pakistan Muslim: "What? Shrine of Lady Fatima at Lisbon?"

:) Not exactly...they're about 80 miles apart.

The Kurdish population is approximately 94% nominally Muslim. Recently, however, there have been many reports of Kurds leaving Islam or converting to other religions.

The Zoroastrian movement claims to have as many as 100,000 followers in Iraqi Kurdistan. Christian organizations assert that thousands in the region have been seeking out Christianity as they reject ISIS’ interpretation of Islam. There are also reports of growing numbers of atheists and agnostics.

Quote:
The Zoroastrian representation in the Kurdistan Region has filed a legal complaint against a Kurdish Islamic preacher whom they claim has issued a decree that all converts to the pre-Islamic faith must be killed if they did not repent within days.

“We filed a lawsuit against Mala Hasib, the [Islamic] preacher at Mala Rasul mosque, before the public prosecutor’s office today,” said Awat Hussamaddin Tayib, the representative of the Zoroastrians at the Kurdistan Region’s ministry of religious affairs, “He has given a three-day deadline to all the Zoroastrians,” she claimed.

Mala Hasib...was asked about issue of converting to other religions.

“Tens and hundreds of Kurdish Muslims have [converted] to Zoroastrianism or Christianity. What do you think in this respect?” the BBC journalist asked Hasib.

“Under an Islamic authority, the verdict is that they would be given three days to reconsider,” Hasib said, “if they repented and abandoned the new religion, it is ok. But if they did not return from Zoroastrianism, or any religion other than Islam, they are apostates and have to be killed. Their punishment is death penalty.“

**Side note: I have met Awat Hussamaddin and we discussed the death threats she has received. My girlfriend is Persian and (thankfully) left Islam 3yrs ago. But she too would face this problem if she openly claimed she was no longer Muslim. On top of that, Islamic law (in this case, Shia Islam) forbids Muslim women from marrying non-Muslim men. People need to keep this in mind when trying to convert anyone away from Islam. I'm not saying "don't do it," I'm saying that DEATH threats are the real deal.
